How would you describe yourself as a kid?
Very active not surprisingly! And very busy... I always loved clothes but I also loved to play sports. I was often throwing a football in a pretty dress.
How was it to become a Mom?
I love being a mom. It is the greatest, hardest thing I have ever done. It’s amazing to see how I’ve changed since I became a mom. Everything became much scarier. At the beginning, I was very nervous about doing everything right. No wonder if my oldest son is my most perfectionist child. The others are easier going because I’m easier going.
How do you balance your life as a businesswomen, wife and mom?
I’m very active and I actually like when a lot is going on. I like to use my brain, I love to run, and I use all the gifts anyone’s given. It’s not always easy of course, far from that. I found out how hard it is when I’m already in the middle of something otherwise I would have never done that. And I found such reward from it. The more you put in, the more you put out.
What’s your “me” time?
Working out as long as I enjoy it. It’s all about music and energy. I love running with my playlist. I put a huge priority to find at least 40mn every day, running or soul cycling. Exercise shouldn’t be a punishment.
Can you share your beauty tips with us?
I wear my hair back a lot. I don’t style my hair, it’s not a priority. You need to pick and choose. First, I pick what I wear. It needs to be chic and comfortable. Then I take care of my skin. I make sure I use moisturizing products with a good SPF and I wear mascara and gloss. I love lip gloss (Jess indeed shown me her very impressive collection of lip glosses in her make-up pouch). When all this fails, I wear sunglasses and a hat.
Do you have a secret to get your kids eat veggies? (it’s becoming more and more difficult on my side ;)
The power smoothie is a big hit with my boys who are fans of superheroes. I mix orange juice, banana, strawberries, blueberries and kale they don’t taste. And I’m sure they get a great amount of vitamins. They also love soybeans. And I often serve them steam broccoli with olive oil and parmesan cheese that I also love for myself.
What’s your motto as a mom (if you have one)? Or maybe a few words to describe your education philosophy?
I just want my kids to be good and loving people. Being involved and caring with them is a priority. It’s not what I say that matters but more what I do. Being healthy is also essential. Especially with my husband being in the avocado and lemon business, I make sure they get fresh and good food every day.
Because a mom’s life can be challenging and because we all have bad days, what do you do when you loose it?
I will call my mom or find comfort in my related supportive other mom friends. Strong female relationships are so important to me.
How would you describe your style for your kids’ room décor?
Right now very simple and practical knowing that we moved 5 times in the past 7 years and we might move again in the next 6 months…Nice but not over the top. Contemporary but comfortable. We recently got a crib from Dwell Studio for Amalia. I get items from famous names like Restoration Hardware to little independent boutiques we discover when we’re traveling.
